The reverse retains an original identification label reading “CRY” DANCER: JUDITH JAMISON / PHOTO: R. FALIGANT, together with the institutional stamp of The Alvin Ailey City Center Dance Theater, 229 East 59th Street, New York.
The attribution is independently documented by the Alvin Ailey organization and Library of Congress, both of which reproduce/catalog an R. Faligant photograph of Judith Jamison in Cry. Alvin Ailey created Cry for Jamison in 1971, and she originated the celebrated solo at New York City Center.
Approximately 8 x 10 inches. Vintage condition with expected handling and storage wear, including edge and corner wear and a diagonal crease at the upper-right corner. Additional minor surface and age-related wear is visible. Please review all photographs carefully for condition.
