Up for sale is an antique Knapp "Leader" battery motor manufactured by the Knapp Electric Novelty Company. This classic open-frame cast-iron motor is fitted with a solid brass 6-blade fan measuring approximately 4 inches in diameter.
Condition & Operation:
Testing: Runs exceptionally well—very fast and very quiet. Operates smoothly across a range of 1.5 volts to 4 volts.
Tolerances: Excellent shaft stability with no end play (forward/backward) or radial play (up/down).
Connections: There are no battery terminals; power wires attach directly to the rear motor connections.
Mounting & Display: Mounted securely with brass hardware onto a quarter-sawn oak base. The bottom features four felt pads to protect surfaces from scratching.
