Krewe medallion Wreath New Orleans Mardi Gras Handmade OOAK Parade 11 For Sale

This is a wonderful, unique, and fun twist on the average Mardi Gras wreath. I began making these in 2010, for myself and for family and a few close friends and now, after many requests, I’d like to share them with you! This is a wreath form twrapped completely in purple, green, and gold ribbon that glitters, and then encrusted with plastic, metal, and resin medallions that adorned beads thrown at Mardi Gras parades by some of the various Krewes from New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Slidell, Mandeville, Covington, and Baton Rouge. These medallions are sought after and very collectible. Your wreath will be covered in medallions on all sides, except the back, so there’s no space left empty or blank. Some medallions feature the Krewe’s logo/name, while others depict not only the Krewe’s name, but also the year and theme of the parade or float from which they were thrown. Many are hand painted, some metallic, almost all are dimensional. Each wreath is OOAK, no two are identical, and all are handmade in Madisonville, LA by me! I don’t use duplicate medallions on the same wreath, unless by request. I try to get as many different Krewes represented on each wreath as possible, depending on spacing and available supplies at that time. If a Krewe is represented more than once on the wreath, the medallions will be different. Each wreath has an attached wire hanger and comes with a removable/repositionable bow made from wired ribbon so it can be reshaped as needed through the years to keep it looking as good as when you received it. these wreaths can be used indoors or in a moderately covered area like a front door, porch or patio but should not be left out in the rain or otherwise inclement weather for long periods. They are safe to be stored in a climate controlled environment or in your attic, boxed/padded properly to avoid any damage from falls or other impacts. These wreaths are colorful and eye catching hung on your front door or anywhere you have a space. They make a great display and an awesome conversation piece from 12th night to Fat Tuesday or even all year round in a themed room or display! They are a perfect gift for any Mardi Gras lover and a clever keepsake that holds memories of our carnival celebrations in its medallions that range from vintage to now.
