Japanese Kutani style Orange/red matte finish with large gold colored 5- petal plum blossom on top, and round gold stripes on sides. 1953-59 export ware, painted on white porcelain/ceramic base. Hand decorated. Underside has original green and beige paper label, reverse printed oval shaped "MADE IN JAPAN". Also has slightly raised red Japanese lettering on base. Small chip inside inner ring of lid.Measures 3" across, 2 " tall. A classic Japanese collectible. Obtained from family member who was part of Baptist missionary group in Asia until 1950's, when they returned to Missouri.
