Large Korean Celadon Style Vase – 13" Tall – Estate Sale Find – Impressed Maker's Mark
Offered for sale is a beautiful 13-inch Korean celadon-style pottery vase acquired from an estate sale. This elegant piece features a soft pale green celadon glaze with attractive natural crackle (crazing) throughout, along with finely incised geometric and floral designs that wrap around the body. The graceful proportions, flared foot, and wide mouth give it a classic form that displays beautifully.
The underside bears a small impressed maker's mark in the center of the foot. The mark is present but faint and difficult to read due to age and wear. High-resolution photos of the mark have been included so buyers can make their own determination regarding the maker or kiln.
The interior of the vase still shows visible potter's throwing marks, adding to its handcrafted character and providing evidence of its wheel-thrown construction. These tool and throwing marks are visible inside the neck and body and are part of the vase's handmade appeal.
