An American vaudeville pianist, songwriter and entertainer who became anactor of the stage, screen and radio. He became famous doingminstrel showsduring the early part of the 1900s, and wrote one of the firstcopyrightedtwelve-barblues, \"N***er Blues\". After spending some time on radio, White entered the filmindustry in the late 1930s. During his eleven-year career he appeared in over70 films.
