Handcrafted lead-free pewter hobnail vase by Leon Fontier, signed and dated 1989. In beautiful condition with no major flaws or dents. Measures 8.5” tall x 4.5” at its widest. Leon Fontier has been producing pewter ware since 1985. The pieces are made from lead-free pewter using a variety of techniques including spinning, fabrication and casting. Fontier was born in the Congo, educated in Belgium and then moved to central New York in 1972. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Yale University Art Gallery and the White House
