Top quality, vintage and very heavy set of \"Lincoln in the Chair\" bookends based on the massive sculpture by Daniel Chester French located inside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
These vintage bookends were made by Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut in the 1920\'s. They are cast in a heavyweight metal with a lush chocolate bronze finish and exceptional attention to detail, typical of Jennings Brothers highest quality standards. The back of each is embossed \"J.B. 2440© D.C. FRENCH\". The undersides are covered in gold felt over a metal plate. One still has the original Jennings Brothers label describing the Daniel Chester French sculpture.
Each bookend stands 7\" tall on a 4.75\" by 4.5\" base, and each weigh approximately 4.5 lbs. apiece. One bookend is in great shape with no cracks or damage, and other bookend has a repair on the neck (see CU photo). Both have their gorgeous chocolate bronze finish intact
