This card features a stunning, color-tinted photograph of hikers standing atop the historic, primitive wooden observatory structure on the summit of Slide Mountain—the highest peak in the Catskill Mountains. While common mass-produced views of Slide Mountain exist, this specific printing is a legendary regional holy grail.

The Rare Local Publisher: This card was published exclusively for the general store counter of H. E. Dutcher in the tiny, remote hamlet of Oliverea, New York. Dutcher, who also served as the local postmaster, produced a miniscule run of local postcards that were never reprinted.
