Up for sale is this truly magnificent, large-scale (monumental) French decorative mantel clock, dating from the late 19th Century (circa 1880). Standing an impressive 20 inches tall, this clock was designed as a premium, high-end centerpiece statement item, far exceeding the scale of standard mantel clocks from this era.The clock is beautifully styled as a classical urn, featuring a rich, deep ruby red/burgundy glazed body. It is elegantly adorned with hand-painted white and soft blue floral sprays. The body is heavily accented with ornate, heavy cast gilt metal/ormolu fittings, including highly detailed handles, floral swags, scrolling feet, and a prominent matching finial.Condition & Mechanical Features:
