Mars Rock Meteorite NWA 4766 - Own A Real Piece of Mars Basaltic Shergottite For Sale

A genuine fragment of the Martian meteorite NWA 4766, presented in a compact illustrated display box. Each specimen contains an authentic piece of rock from Mars, individually weighing between 7–19mg and mounted against a white circular background so the meteorite can be clearly seen.

NWA 4766 is an officially classified Martian meteorite and belongs to the basaltic shergottite group. Shergottites are igneous rocks formed from Martian magma before being ejected from the planet by a major impact and eventually reaching Earth as meteorites. Their mineralogy and composition provide scientists with rare physical material through which the geology of Mars can be studied directly.

These specimens were sourced directly from meteorite dealer Stefan Ralew, who is recorded as the holder of the main mass of NWA 4766. Each fragment is housed in a clear 55mm × 35mm presentation box with one of several Mars-themed illustrated inserts. Designs vary and one will be selected at random from the stock remaining, so the photographs are representative of the presentation you will receive rather than the exact specimen.
