Toa Sekiguchi
Sekiguchi-san was born in 1942in Shibukawa City, Gunma Prefecture into a family of prominent kokeshicraftsmen. He is the son of the iconic sosaku artist Sansaku Sekiguchi (who hashis own kokeshi museum in Gunma).
Toa Sekiguchi is anaccomplished sosaku Master in his own right. He started out as an independentmaker in the 1980s. He is the winner of many artistic competition awards,including the prestigious Prime Minister's Award in 2001 (for the work titled "Hope.")Hisworks are diverse in style and are highly regarded by collectors.
