Beatrice Minerva “Minnie” Ashley. (1878-1946). American stage actress, artist, and author. One of the great beauties of the stage at the end of the 19th century. Just as she achieved stardom, infrared necrosis of her eyes from prolonged exposure to theatrical arc lights caused her sight to deteriorate. In 1902, she quit the stage and married the wealthy grandson of John Jacob Astor. 3x2 card signed in fountain pen ink, “Faithfully Yours, Minnie Ashley.” Corners of the card covered with cellophane. In very good condition.
