For sale is a Made in Japan Mitutoyo 0-1\" Cat#169-103 micrometer with disc type measuring faces. This micrometer features a non-rotating spindle-- which offers many advantages for taking accurate measurements VS a standard rotating spindle (screw type) model. Besides general use for measuring thickness and diameter, it is useful for measuring flanges as well as softer materials such as rubber, paper products, and fabrics. It has .440\" (11.2MM) diameter measuring discs, ratchet stop, insulated frame, and .001\" graduations. It is satin chrome finished with an enameled frame. It comes furnished with an adjustment spanner and original factory box. This micrometer is of an early 1990\'s vintage and of the high quality that Mitutoyo is known for. It was part of a toolmaker\'s personal collection. This micrometer will provide precise and accurate measurement for either everyday use, or the hobby machinist or collector.
This instrument is clean and in very good condition with a well cared for appearance. Measuring surfaces are clean and undamaged as well. There are initials engraved on the thimble surface. Item has been in storage for over 25 years but has been cleaned, lubricated, and functions smoothly throughout its range. The ratchet action is still sharp as well. It is ready for use.
