Mizukihara Uchigumori Jito Renge JNAT Double-Sided Japanese Whetstone For Sale

For sale is an authentic Mizukihara Uchigumori Jito Koppa Japanese natural whetstone, originally imported directly from Japan, selected and tested by a specialist JNAT vendor.
This is a particularly attractive Renge-rich Uchigumori, with dense reddish/pink speckling throughout the pale gray working surface. The original seller described this individual stone as firm, dense, fast and fine, with a final polish that sits on the border between traditional Hato and Jito Uchigumori characteristics.
A particularly useful feature of this example is that it is double-sided. Both broad faces can be used as working surfaces, giving the stone considerably more usable material and allowing the owner to maintain or condition each side differently if desired.
The stone is highly responsive with water alone. According to the original vendor, it releases black swarf even when used with water only, demonstrating surprisingly strong cutting ability for an Uchigumori. With slurry, the cutting action becomes substantially faster and the stone produces a distinctive velvety pink slurry, which quickly darkens as it loads with steel.
For straight razors, the original seller specifically reported that the stone can be used to take a razor through to a finished edge, with slurry management and pressure management being important. It is also an excellent polishing stone for kitchen knives, particularly where a refined Kasumi-style finish is desired.
