A particularly attractive vintage Movado Ermeto mechanical travelling watch, dating from approximately the mid-1930s.

This example has a striking black dial with Arabic numerals, luminous-style numerals/hands, sweep centre seconds and twin calibrated tracks. Centre-seconds Ermetos are a less commonly encountered version of this famous Movado design.

The ingenious Ermeto mechanism winds the mechanical movement through the action of opening and closing the sliding outer covers. The watch also incorporates a folding stand to the rear, allowing it to be used as a small travelling/desk clock.

The watch is currently running extremely well. During my observation it has been gaining approximately twoseconds per day. This is stated simply as an observation of its current performance and is not a guarantee of future accuracy.

The black dial presents very well for its age. The outer metal covers show small surface scratches and marks from normal use over approximately 90 years. I have deliberately left these as found rather than polishing or refinishing the case. Please study the photographs carefully for condition.
