This plaque reproduces the official 1928 Fiestas de Primavera poster created by Spanish illustrator Juan Dapena Parrilla (1878-1937) who was commissioned by the Seville City Council during a period when Spanish graphic design blended regional tradition with emerging Art Deco influence. The rectangular shape and balanced composition echo the original poster design, holding both movement and structure in a single frame. The reverse label identifies La Fabrica de Placas as the manufacturer and confirms production in Spain. El Rastro is widely recognized as the most iconic and oldest flea market in Madrid and one of the most culturally significant street markets in Europe, operating every Sunday with thousands of stalls where antiques, curiosities, handcrafted goods, and regional items have been exchanged for centuries (see pictures). Documented activity dates back to at least the 18th century and origins reaching into the 15th century from Madrid’s early trade routes and guild systems known as the Ribera de Curtidores district.
