Right off the bat I have to say I don\'t know a lot about microscopes, but I have researched this a bit and I think it\'s a good one--- and it\'s of Excellent Quality. Leitz is a famous precision Camera maker and they started off as a Microscope company back in the early 1900\'s. This one is probably from about the 1930\'s to 1950\'s. I don\'t know for sure when in that range. It is called a \"compound\" Binocular microscope and it has a nice black enamel finish.
It\'s in Very Good Cosmetic Condition with a few spots of paint wear, some pitting and a few nicks to the black enamel here and there--- a little bit of brass showing in spots. There\'s also some nicks and fine scratches on the chrome parts and a few small spots of corrosion. But the knobs and moving parts are all excellent and the lenses/objectives look to in excellent condition--- although I have not really tested it or used it for it\'s intended purpose. I don\'t know if everything is there that is supposed to be on this model, but what is, looks to be in great shape. So I would call it better than 90% Mint--- Very CLEAN overall!As I said--- the Optical parts--- the four objective lenses and the eyepieces seem to be in excellent condition too, but they have Not been tested for perfect operation, and I Have Not tested it extensively, so I don\'t know every little nuance--- good or bad. So it\'s Not \"brand new\" condition, but it\'s quite Nice.
