The J.M. Clayton Company, founded in 1890, is the oldest continuously operating crab processing plant in the world, located in Cambridge, Maryland. Initially established in Hoopersville, MD, Captain John Morgan Clayton moved the company to its current location in 1921 to access better transportation and resources. The company remains family-owned and operated, now in its fourth and fifth generations.
