New old stock pair of mid-century Japanese Fugu (puffer fish) porcelain plates, imported by Paul’s Gifts – E.P.P. & Co., New York. Both retain their original foil “Made in Japan” stickers and show no signs of use. Each piece is hand-painted with gold and red enamel details over a celadon-green glaze and embossed bubble texture. The smaller 6.5” plate is the rarer size.
