This sale is for a NUMBERED USS HELENA SSN-725 BRASS \"HELLFISH\" SUBMARINE BADGE WITH RUBY LIKE RED EYES - REGULATION SIZE (2.75\"). It has a submarine with a head on view. Fierce looking dolphins with ruby like eyes are resting on each side (Port & Starboard) of this 688 Class Second (II) Flight Submarine. It has the same dimensions of an official U.S. Navy Submarine Insignia. This is an unofficial NOVELTY version of the submarine insignia.There is the following on the backside: \"SSN-725\", \"BRASS\", & Numbering (there were only 25 of these badges made - they are numbered from 1 of 25 to 25 of 25) The badge in the photos is numbered 18 of 25 but you might receive any number of the 25. SSN-725 is the hull number of the Helena. The badge was made by the same company that makes submarine insignia for the U.S. Navy (VANGUARD). It has two clutch post pins on the back for attachments. It is not authorized to be worn on active duty Naval personnel uniforms. It is also one of the last 688 Class submarines that has Sail Planes.
