Up for sale is a stunning, beautifully executed vintage Balinese tribal wood carving depicting Rangda, the powerful Demon Queen and Goddess of protection and chaos in Balinese Hinduism.Despite its compact cabinet size, this sculpture boasts exceptional, high-relief craftsmanship. It displays all of Rangda's signature mythological elements: a terrifying tusked visage, prominent bulging eyes, an extended stylized tongue draped down her front, and an elaborate crown headdress. One arm is raised in a powerful ritualistic stance.The piece is carved from a dense, high-quality tropical hardwood (likely aged Suar or Teak) which has naturally weathered over time to a gorgeous, sought-after ashy, silvery-gray patina that highlights every chisel mark.
