Old Station Ironworks Cast Iron Seasoning Compound – 2oz

A small-batch cast iron seasoning made frombeeswax, grapeseed oil, and sunflower oil. This solid compound melts smoothly, spreads evenly, and forms a durable protective layer that helps prevent rustand maintain seasoning.

Unlike liquid cooking oils, this compound lets youuseonly what you need, helping minimize waste and mess while deliveringconsistent results.

How to Use1. Clean & Dry

Wash and thoroughly dry your cast iron cookware.

    2. Apply a Thin Coat

Using a lint-free cloth or natural-bristle brush, apply a thin coat of seasoning compound and buff away any excess.

    3. Choose Your Method

    For Routine Maintenance

    • Apply a thin coat
    • Buff until the surface appears nearly dry
    • Ready to use

    For a Full Seasoning Cycle

    • Apply a thin coat and buff away excess
    • Place cookware in a cold oven
    • Set oven to 450°F
    • Allow the cast iron to heat up with the oven
    • Bake for 1 hour
    • Turn off the oven and allow cookware to cool slowly inside
    💡 Pro Tip

Slightly warming your cast iron before applying the seasoning compound can help remove any remaining moisture and makes the compound easier to spread into a thin, even coat.

    ⚠️ Remember

Less is more. Applying too much seasoning compound can leave a sticky finish. For best results, leave only a very thin coating on the cookware.
