Indian Wars 2nd Lieutenant of Cavalry seven button sack coat/blouse. Coat is an original period item with minor moth damage, but overall excellent condition. Shoulder straps display a solid yellow field denoting Cavalry. No lining on the inside the coat which is indicative of sack coats from this period.Buttons are the eagle C Cavalry buttons with Scolville and Waterbury backmarks. No cuff buttons. Great original rare piece.This item was purchased and authenticated by one of the most reputable military dealers in the country for Civil War and other militaria ( been in business for 50 plus years). I am attaching their description so there is no confusion. Coat is very small, but is NOT a childs military uniform/costume from the period. The item is an authentic sack coat worn by a 2nd Lieutenant of Cavalry during the Indian Wars period.
