This impressive period image shows hundreds of mounted Baden Dragoons and Württemberg Uhlans drawn up in formation on an open field, with the town of Löffingen (including the distinctive church of St. Michael) clearly visible in the background. The full original printed caption appears on the mount:

bei Löffingen.”
The photograph documents a major military maneuver held in the area from late August to mid-September 1894 involving four Baden dragoon regiments and two Württemberg uhlan regiments. It is one of the few surviving large-format views of this event and provides an excellent early overall view of the town.
