This is a Origial 1940s U.S. GENERAL MACARTHUR Composition Doll andan Original March 9, 1942 NEWSWEEK magazine.
The General MacArthur \"Man of the Hour\" doll/figurine was made by the Freundlich Novelty Corporation of New York. They were only in business until 1945.This is a jointed composition doll about 18\" in height.This particular example is quite rare. The Brass Eagle buttons on his uniform were only used on very early dolls. The U.S. Government put a stop to any materials being used that were needed for the war effort. That would put a date on this figure to 1941/1942.Also included in this sale is an Original 1940s MacArthur PIN and a 1942 edition of Newsweek magazine that features General MacArthur on the cover.
The Doll and magazine have typical wear from items that are over 80+ years old. The Doll has the most wear on the top of the Hat and his shoes.Overall, that are good and very displayable items.
