Original Indian Trade Cross Hudsons Bay Company Fur Trade Era 1700's
DescriptionAntique brass Hudson’s Bay trade cross pendant.
Flat-cut floriated / fleur-de-lis cross with a suspension hole at the top. Stamped HB at the crossing and, on the lower arm, a seated fox above the word FOX. The reverse is plain. Warm brass color with old surface wear and dark patina in the recesses.
This form follows 18th–19th century fur-trade silver crosses associated with the Hudson’s Bay Company. The fox is the animal used in the HBC crest (fox sejant). The HB and FOX stamps are as shown in the photos.
Size: 1 5/8" tall (see ruler in photos).
