Offered here is an original German \"Der Stahlhelm\" membership/support pin, shaped as a miniature M1916 Stahlhelm (steel helmet) with an engraved Iron Cross and Gothic-script \"Der Stahlhelm\" inscription on the obverse.
This pin relates to Der Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten — the German WWI veterans\' league founded in December 1918 in Magdeburg by Franz Seldte, which grew to roughly 1.5 million members by the early 1930s during the Weimar era.
The reverse carries a horizontal pin-and-catch fastener and is stamp-marked \"ST.&L. GES.GESCH,\" the mark of Lüdenscheid maker Steinhauer & Lück, with \"Ges. Gesch.\" denoting a legally protected/patented design — a marking found on genuine period Stahlhelmbund badges of this pattern.
