Pair of original 1903 steamboat dining menus from the Steamer Chester W. Chapin (August 23, 1903) and Steamer City of Lowell (September 13, 1903). These antique menus feature matching illustrated covers and extensive interior food, beverage, cigar, and cigarette price lists from the early 20th century.
Menu offerings include oysters, fresh fish, steaks, prime rib, spring lamb with mint sauce, soups including Mock Turtle Soup and Bisque of Clam, salads, desserts, champagne, wine, whiskey, beer, cigars, and cigarettes. The menus provide a fascinating glimpse into steamboat dining and pricing during the pre-Prohibition era.
Original antique paper items. Condition varies with age-related toning, edge wear, creasing, corner wear, handling marks, and light discoloration as shown in photos. The City of Lowell menu has a tear/chip along the upper right edge. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.
