Pair Antique English Pewter Candlesticks c1820 Georgian 9\" Provenance Receipt For Sale

Wonderful matched pair of antique English pewter candlesticks, circa 1820, accompanied by their original 1965 British antique-dealer receipt.Each candlestick measures approximately 9\" tall with a 4.25\" diameter base. They have an elegant early-19th-century form with broad circular bases, tall tapered stems, shaped knops and wide candle sockets. Both the bases and candle cups are finished with an attractive rope/twist border. Candles included.Excellent documented provenance. These were purchased by my grandparents in England in 1965 and have remained in the family since.The accompanying original receipt is from A. H. Isher & Son, Antiques and Metalwork, 19 Bennington St., Cheltenham, dated September 2, 1965. The dealer was a member of B.A.D.A. (British Antique Dealers\' Association) and a licensed valuer.The handwritten receipt specifically identifies:“Pair of pewter candlesticks c. 1820”The original 1965 purchase price was £8 10s, a substantial amount at the time. The receipt also lists a brass trivet; that item is not included with this listing. The original receipt will accompany the candlesticks.Measurements:

Good antique condition for their approximately 200-year age, retaining a very attractive dark pewter patina. Expected surface scratches, oxidation, discoloration, small marks and wear from age and use. One underside has what appears to be an old hexagonal nut/fastener while the other has an exposed rod.
