These pens are no longer produced and is a rare find. Packaging may show minor shelf wear from storage. Please review the photos closely, as they are considered part of the description.
Condition: This pen includes its original long Pelikan ink cartridge which runs the length of the barrel and can provide a larger in source than the shorter cartridges. We recommend replacing it with a fresh Pelikan 4001 GTP/5 large ink cartridge, which is the closest match to the original long cartridge supplied with this pen. The Pelikano P480 cartridge system also accepts normal compatible fountain pen cartridges, but the longer GTP/5 cartridge is the best replacement match.
About the Collection:The Pelikan Pelikano line is one of Pelikan’s best-known school fountain pen series, made for students, beginning writers, and everyday writing use. The P480 series continued that practical school-pen design with a lightweight body, ergonomic grip, stainless steel nib, snap cap, and cartridge filling system.
The Pelikano P480 was offered in multiple colors and nib options, including A, F, M, and L. The A nib was made for beginner writers, while L versions were made for left-handed users. Because many Pelikano pens were purchased for school use and used heavily, unused New Old Stock examples are harder to find today, especially with the A beginner nib.

The A nib was designed to support beginning writers with a rounded, forgiving tip and a wider writing sweet spot than a standard school nib. It is a practical choice for new fountain pen users, students, collectors of school pens, or anyone who prefers a beginner-style nib.
The pen has a right-handed ergonomic soft grip section designed to guide finger placement and reduce slipping. The large ink viewing window allows the ink level to be seen when a cartridge is installed. The cap has a metal clip and an anti-roll shape to help keep the pen from rolling on a desk.
The pen uses a cartridge filling system and accepts Pelikan large-capacity cartridges as well as normal compatible fountain pen cartridges. The longer Pelikan 4001 GTP/5 cartridge is the closest replacement match for the original cartridge included with this pen.
