This lovely polished stump of Petrified Wood, known as Schilderia, is a full \"round\" (bark all the way around).
It is polished on one face and natural (endcut) on the bottom.
The Petrified Wood stump is 4 inches long by 3.9 inches wide and 1.4 inches at its thickest.
Most of the petrified wood from the Chinle Formation in Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico is Arucarioxylon arizonicum (Auracaria), but a small amount of 2 much rarer species of wood, Woodworthia arizonica and Schilderia adamanica , are also present in Arizona and, in very small amounts, in the Wolverine Petrified Forest in Utah.
Schilderia admanica represents less than 3% of the petrified wood found in the Chinle Formation.
