Phillip Honanie - Vtg Hopi Indian Sterling Silver Overlay Belt Buckle - 2 3/8\" For Sale

This belt buckle has been superbly crafted by master Hopi silversmith Phillip Honanie. The workmanship and the beauty of the design show why Phillip is considered one of the finest Hopi silversmiths. He is a member of the Bear clan. His hallmark is a pair of crescents which is the Hopi sign for friendship. He resided in the second Mesa village of Shungopovi. He began his work in the 60s and passed on 2017.

This buckle measures 2 3/8\" across and 1 1/8\" tall. The loop at the back will fit a belt up to 1\" wide. The buckle weighs 24.5 grams and is in great vintage condition. The buckle is hallmarked with Phillip\'s crescent hallmark and the Hopi Guild
