The inlaid landscape depicts a classic Tuscan-style village scene assembled from individually shaped and fitted pieces of natural stone in contrasting colors and textures.
The lid is surrounded by polished brass accent striping and framed by a high-gloss lacquered burlwood finish that displays deep, naturally varied grain. The box opens on its original metal hinges to reveal a cream-colored velour/felt-lined interior cavity. The construction includes neatly fitted and mitered wood components, while the underside is finished with a smooth dark hardwood panel.
This is a particularly attractive example of the small decorative boxes produced in Italy during the latter half of the 20th century, combining figured wood, stone mosaic, brass detailing, and traditional Italian decorative craftsmanship.

No significant damage or repairs are apparent. Overall, this is an exceptionally well-preserved vintage Italian decorative box with excellent display appeal.
