This sale is for a lovely porcelain cockatiel bird figurine. Manufactured in Germany by Karl Ens. It bears the blue windmill makers mark with the initials ENS on the base which indicates the piece was made Mid 20th Century anywhere from 1945 to 1972 at the Karl Ens porcelain factory in Volkstedt, Germany. It is in pristine condition with no damage of any kind.
These Karl Ens pieces are considered handmade in that yes, parts were made using a mold, but artists then assembled the pieces, smoothed seams, added details and hand painted the finished pieces.
