Portuguese Vintage Gilt Filigree Santo Halo And Crown Set For Sale

Two Portuguese devotional ornaments, circa 1940-1960, consisting of one gilt filigree halo and one matching openwork filigree crown. The halo, 1.5” diameter, features intricate pierced filagree designs with a red glass jewel center. It retains its original mounting peg. It was made to adorn Santos or other Catholic devotional figures. The crown, 1”H x 3/4” diameter, is similarly crafted in openwork gilt filigree, also retaining its original mounting peg. The devotional figures with which these ornaments were paired are no longer known so they are offered together as authentic Portuguese devotional accessories. They are in very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and light oxidation to the gilt finish. There are no significant breaks noted in the filigree. These accessories are ideal for collectors, restorers, or for use as replacement halos or crowns for Santos or other devotional figures.
