This listing is for a collection of 29 antique leather postcards dating primarily to the peak of the leather postcard craze between 1906 and 1907. These cards feature pyrographic (wood-burnt) designs with hand-painted accents. The collection includes a variety of period themes such as Edwardian humor, "Skidoo" era slang, romantic sentiments, and regional commemoratives including a "Sweet Columbus, O" card.
Condition Details:
The cards show age-appropriate wear consistent with items over 100 years old. Many are postmarked and addressed, featuring the original 1-cent stamps of the era. The leather remains generally supple, though some cards show typical darkening, light staining, or minor edge wear common with deerskin and sheepskin ephemera from this period. One or two cards show more significant darkening or heavy postmarking as seen in the photographs.
