Pre-1916 American Brilliant Period Hand Cut Lead Crystal Sawtooth Bowl 9” X 4\" For Sale

Palm Beach Estate sale purchase is an American Brilliant Period (ABP) hand cut glass bowl, a highly collectible form of decorative crystal produced in the United States roughly between 1876 and 1917. These pieces are renowned for their exceptional clarity and high lead content, which creates a signature \"brilliant sparkle\" when they catch the light.  This features a sawtooth edge design and highlights \"zipper\" or \"notched\" miter cuts and \"hobstar\" or \"fan\" motifs. The zipper pattern is a specific style of decorative cutting found on high-quality crystal and glassware, characterized by a series of short, parallel, horizontal notches cut along the edges of vertical ribs. These notches resemble the interlocking teeth of a zipper, which is how the pattern earned its name.  Patterns are designed to maximize light refraction and create a diamond-like brilliance. This is measuring 9 inches in diameter and 4 inches. The green UV fluorescence from manganese content, heavy weight, and clarity of glass confirms authenticity. Tested under blacklight, the rim and cuts glow the classic pale-green associated with early lead crystal.  (30%+ lead content) Although no etched marking was found, it was common prior to mandatory acid stamp, for early blanks from Hoare, Libbey, and Hawkes not to be signed. This bowl displays beautifully with museum level sparkle and features deeply hand-cut hobstars, often referred to as a \"Star of David\" and scalloped sawtooth edge. Excellent condition.
