The magician turns his back to the audience and says he is going to demonstrate the secret.
2. A glass apparently containing milk is placed on a small tray. On on a Mic stand 
3. A tube or cover is placed over the glass.
4. The magician appears to slide the covered glass into position.
5. From the audience’s supposedly privileged backstage viewpoint, they can actually see what appears to be the glass dropping away underneath the tray.
6. The magician then turns around and repeats the procedure from the normal front position.
7. The audience thinks, “We know exactly where the glass went.”
8. The magician removes the covering/tray arrangement—and the glass has genuinely vanished.The important idea is the sucker principle: the audience is deliberately given enough information to form what seems like an explanation, only to discover that their explanation was wrong.
