Historical Quincy, Illinois photograph of a QuincyLaundry/Branch Office that offered services such as “hats cleaned, blocked andrepaired while you wait.” This companywas later known as the Quincy-Weems Laundry, located on south 4th street between Maine St. and Jersey St. This photograph was typical of thenature of the regional stations where customers could drop off their garmentsor have their hats cleaned and shaped while they waited. The photo was from the1920’s when “while you wait\" cleaning and blocking service was quitepopular. You could avail yourself of this service on the way to pick-up your little lady fro the dance. Shuckey-durn, you could even ante up a jitney nickel and get your shoes shined.

THE IMMAGE ITSELF IS A LITTLE SHY OF 8\" X 10\" AND IS SEPIA. THE MOUNT IS PASTEBOARD AND IS WANTING TO BREAK OFF ON THE UPPER TWO CORNERS.
