I am really having trouble letting go of this near-mint, rare 1979 11S Deluxe Peterson pipe that was made for the German market when they were still using the 6mm filter. Later on, the public preferred the larger 9mm filter, so all pipes starting in the 1980s went to that filter size. I bought this pipe from Germany, and it has a stunning grain pattern that I absolutely love and feels wonderful in the hand. The stem has no chatter or wear on it, and you can see it never had the stem altered for a condenser that would normally be where the 6mm filter fits.
I have too many pipes in my collection and haven't smoked this pipe in over a year, so it is time to reduce my numbers and pass this on to another collector to enjoy this rare find. This is comparable to the System Standard 312 but has a slightly beefier stem and the famous "push-gap" space fitting, so it can settle over time and is not designed to fit flush. The 11S also has slightly thicker insulating walls, a generous chamber, and a beautiful tubular transition with a sweeping profile.
I will be sad to see this pipe go, but I know it will find a good home.
