Unique/rare pair of 16 oz Brown Inverted-V Deneen Pottery Tankards from 1985 (likely thrown by David Pluth).
The Illustration on the medallion was made by David P. Christofferson who alongside Peter Deneen came up with the idea for the \"Glaze Engraved\" Trademark....that lead to the rise and proliferation of Deneen Pottery as the PREMIER handmade ceramic mug manufacturer in the USA.
David owned and operated The Bad Manor inside the grounds of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, where the Feast of Fantasy was held nightly during the Festival. Sadly, I learned from John Deneen that David passed away several years ago.
You can see there is a D over a C in the upper left quadrant of the Crest. There is also a Fleur-de-lis inlayed on the reverse side. The fleur-de-lis inlays also appeared on the Deneen 1985 Feast of Fantasy Goblet. This was his own mysterious touch, and these Tankards were sold to the workers and participants at The Bad Manor. He was also a prolific early contributor to Deneen Pottery as an incredibly talented Illustrator.
