The M43 fur-lined winter parka was designed in mid 1943 and featured with a full length, button up front closure, it was introduced in early 1944, and manufacture of the earlier pattern 1/2 button overhead model M40 was discontinued.
The Khakrov Parka was so name as it was used by SS units fighting in the Cold winter of the Russian front . This jacket is meant to keep you warm in very low temps. This is a very heavy jacket.

The shell of the parka was made of cotton poplin in the typical field-grey shade. The fabric of this jacket is what they call duck cotton because of the tight weave which makes it water resistant.
8 x hollow backed button front closure with an overlapping wind flap and an integral hood.
Two breast pockets and two diagonally angled slash hip pockets all with scalloped button down flaps.
The interior of the anoraks are fully lined in multi-panel red and brown rabbit fur (not sure if this is real fur but if you look at the backing it appears it is) to the body and grey rayon to the sleeves. Vented armpits shown in photos. Wool sewn deep pockets with fur interior lining.
Drawstring waist.
Extra-large hood to accommodate a helmet.

Length from top of shoulder is 39”
Jacket is very heavy.
The last five photos are all of the backside of the fur. It shows how the fur is patched together. The discoloration is also an indicator that this is likely real fur. See before and after burn test photos. Definitely smells like burning hair.
