The New Goshenhoppen Reformed (UCC) Church in East Greenville, Pennsylvania,constructed its current sanctuary in 1857 under Pastor Daniel Weiser. The stone building, replacing earlier structures, features a cornerstone dated 1857 and a steeple with a bell funded by the congregation. It remains in active use today.
The nail comes with itsoriginal handwritten provenance note(dated May 8, 2001) clearly stating it is from the church’s soffit. The “1857” on the note refers to the historic 1857 construction of the current stone church building (cornerstone laid 1857–1858), one of the key structures still associated with this long-standing Pennsylvania German Reformed congregation
