Up for sale is a museum-quality antique fine porcelain teacup and saucer set produced by the historic William Ellis Tucker Factory (later Tucker & Hemphill) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dating precisely between 1826 and 1838, this set is a highly prized piece of early American porcelain history.The underside of the cup features the authentic, hand-painted gold gilder's mark "D", used to identify the work of a specific master factory decorator.The set features a vibrant, translucent white hard-paste porcelain body rendered in a classic flared form. It is delicately hand-painted with a continuous running border of multi-colored floral swags and green leaf garlands, framed neatly by thick, burnished gold-gilt bands along the rims and the distinctively arched handle.An exceptionally clean, beautifully preserved example of important early American ceramic history, perfect for an advanced collector of historical Americana or fine museum-grade porcelain.
