Rare Meissen “Cris De Paris” Oyster Seller Girl Porcelain Figurine
A Meissen polychrome glazed and gilded porcelain figurine from the Cries of Paris series, depicting an oyster seller. The figure is modeled standing and looking upward, carrying a large yellow wicker creel on her back. She is dressed in 18th-century rustic attire consisting of a green bodice with long sleeves, a white apron featuring a purple floral border, and a yellow skirt. The figure stands on a low mound-shaped base decorated with multi-colored applied flowers and gilded scrollwork. The underside of the base features the blue underglaze crossed swords mark for the Meissen porcelain factory.
