Rare Spanish 1869 Dress Infantry Officer Sword Saber Toledo Folding Guard TR1529 For Sale

Antique Spanish 1869 (dated) Dress Sword measuring 35.5" overall with a blade length of 30". Very good overall showing some light age patina and handling wear. Double fullered blade with foliate engraving and marked, "FaD TOLEDO". Opposite side stamped Year "1869".Nice Guard that folds on the left side, folds forward. Basket shows the Spanish Coat of Arms, the ricasso area of the blade also shows this stamp. There is also a cartouche stamp on the top area of the guard and on the finial of guard, left side.This also has the cut-out on the scabbard so that you can push the guard in when you went out to ceremonial duties or evening balls so it would not stick out. The shark skin grip shows a spot loss underneath by the pommel with wire wrap on tight.
