Rare variation. I am not sure what the variation represented, possibly a tactic to further confuse the enemy?
Original - From the 1940s WW2. A nice cloth patch. Shows some wear and discoloration due to age. Three-inch ruler added to pictures to show size/scale. Measures about 3.5 inches long.
Used for a phantom/ghost army made up to fool the enemy before D-Day. Commanded by Gen. George Patton.
I was very fortunate to get a bunch of these from a Vet\'s estate in the area (Fayetteville NC) who was a part of this phantom army in England during WW2. I was told he actually designed and had the patches made in the UK.
