Rare~Vintage 1968 Mr Potts By Mattel Pull String NOT Working For Sale

Released in 1968 by Mattel, this is a toy tied to the musical fantasy film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.The character Caractacus Potts, immortalized by Dick Van Dyke, became a beloved figure among children and collectors following the movie\'s theatrical debut.Mattel utilized their popular pull-string talking mechanism technology of the era, inserting voice boxes inside soft-bodied cloth dolls to bring beloved characters to life. These movie tie-in dolls were produced in limited quantities compared to standard fashion dolls, making surviving examples highly sought after by vintage toy enthusiasts today.The pull string produces no sound but it does move in and out smoothly. He is a bit dirty but could easily be cleaned up. No rips or tears but he does have a stitch on his right arm. Overall, he is in good used condition for a man of 60 years! Please see pictures.
