A three-time Ducks Unlimited Texas Artist of the Year and winner of the Sculptor of the Year award at the DU World Wildlife Exposition, Wells has permanent bronze installations at the Ducks Unlimited National Headquarters in Memphis, TN, and at the DU Waterfowling Heritage Center at Bass Pro. This is not decorative giftware — this is a named, collected wildlife artist with a national reputation.
THE SCULPTURE"Wave Runners" captures two canvasback drakes banking hard in flight — wings locked, bodies angled into the turn. The drama of the composition is immediate. At 19" tall and 24" wing to wing, this is a commanding piece that fills a room. The painted cast metal finish captures the rich chestnut, black, and white of the canvasback drake in impressive detail, mounted on a wooden base.
